Background

Alan Jackson was born Alan Eugene Jackson in Newnan, Georgia on October 17, 1958.  Jackson married his high-school sweetheart, Denise, in 1979 and, together, they have three daughters:  Mattie Denise, Alexandra Jane and Dani Grace.  Jackson and his family currently reside in a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee.

Jackson’s country music career got started after he and his wife, Denise, saved up enough funds to move to Nashville, Tennessee.  He spent time working in the Nashville Network mail room before his career took off.  Over the course of his career, Alan Jackson has influenced the heart of country music.  His music displays traditional southern upbringing and blue-collar values.  He has been credited with popularizing the neotraditional country sound.  He is also known as a hugely successful country music entertainer.  Jackson has had over 30 Number One hits, including multiple hits that he wrote himself.

To date, Alan Jackson has released 17 albums.  The names of these albums are:  Here in the Real World (1989), Don't Rock The Jukebox (1991), A Lot About Livin' (And a Little 'Bout Love) (1992), Honky Tonk Christmas (1993), Who I Am (1994), The Greatest Hits Collection (1995), Everything I Love (1996), High Mileage (1998), Under the Influence (1999), Super Hits (1999), When Somebody Loves You (2000), Drive (2002), Let It Be Christmas (2002), Greatest Hits Volume II And Some Other Stuff (2003), What I Do (2004), Precious Memories (2006) and Like Red On A Rose (2006).  Here in the Real World and Don’t Rock The Jukebox were major hits, but his third album, A Lot About Livin' (And a Little 'Bout Love) was Jackson’s breakout hit album with 5 chart topping singles.  Jackson’s well known song about September 11, 2001 titled “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” was on his Drive album.
