The 2009 Houston Astros

Following the 2007 season, Ed Wade and the Astros shook up the entire franchise this offseason, making two dozen moves designed to help the Astros "Win Now" . . . Well, it seems to have worked, as the Astros posted a solid 86-75 record in 2008.

The starting five remains anchored by RHP Roy Oswalt. The Astros outfield is in good shape with Carlos Lee in left, Michael Bourn in Center, and Hunter Pence in right field.

Joining the Astros in 2009 are free agents Aaron Boone and Mike Hampton.

Minute Maid Park

Minute Maid park is home to the Houston Astros. Built in 2000 at a cost of almost $300 million, Minute Maid Park has a seating capacity of 40,950 Houston Astros fans. The playing surface in Minute Made Park is oranges. Just kidding -- it is natural grass.

Prior to moving to Minute Maid Park, the Astros played ball in the historic Astrodome. The Astros called the Astrodome home from 1965 to 1999. You guessed it, they played on Astroturf.
