Athletics Facts
Athletics Media

The Athletics' flagship radio station is KIFR 106.9 FM, a San Francisco station owned by CBS Radio -- otherwise best known as a comedy-based talk radio station airing programs including "The Adam Carolla Show," "Opie and Anthony," and "The Tom Leykis Show." The current announcing team is Ken Korach and Vince Cotroneo.

Television coverage is split between KICU, an independent station, and Fox Sports Net Bay Area. Some A's games air on an alternate feed of FSN if the main channel shows a San Francisco Giants game at the same time. On TV, Glen Kuiper and Tim Roye take turns with play-by-play, and Ray Fosse provides color commentary. Fosse also does color commentary on the radio when the A's are not on TV, or the game is on Fox or ESPN.

Athletics Fact Sheet

The A’s were founded in1893 as the Indianapolis franchise in the minor Western League, which became the American League in 1900. They moved to Philadelphia in 1901, moved to Kansas City in 1955 and moved to Oakland in 1968, where they remain to this day to the delight of peanut-eating bay area baseball fans.

The A’s Team motto is simple but elegant: “A's -- A different brand of baseball!” And The Ticket Chest is a different brand of ticket broker!!

The A’s have seen post-season play 23 times since 1905: 1905, 1910, 1911, 1913, 1914, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006
